Rubber Process Analyzer (RPA) for Elastomer and Compound Development and Quality Control
The Rubber Process Analyzer (RPA) is an important tool for developing – and controlling the reliable manufacture of – elastomers and compounds. The RPA can provide far more information than traditional rubber testing methods such as the MDR or Mooney viscometer.
In this webinar we will introduce the RPA in the context of the overall range of test methods available to the rubber technologist. The capabilities of the instrument will be described and examples will be shown relating to key polymer characteristics of average molecular weight, molecular weight distribution, and the detection of long chain branching. Finally, case studies of compound manufacturing challenges and solutions will be presented relating to mixing, extrusion, and filler dispersion.
Mr. Henri G. Burhin is the principal technical consultant for Polymer Process Consult and an authority in polymer testing with emphasis on viscoelastic property measurements. His expertise includes both plastics and rubber, whether as pure materials or fully compounded.
